Oh, hey, Haarlem. It was only a 15 minute train ride away -- why not? You may be incredibly surprised to learn that Haarlem is filled with beautiful old buildings, gorgeous churches, and lots of shops. It's almost old hat at this point. I love it.

My favorite part of the town was wholly unexpected; I glanced at the guidebook to find a museum of interest right before we planned to leave, and it turns out that the building that I was blocking with my huge head in that first photo was home to the amazing Teylers Museum.
