See (sea) lions.
Someone was excited about sea lions.
We didn't really relish the idea of spending gobs of time on Fisherman's Wharf (we've got Navy Pier for that sort of thing, thank you), but one of us (hint: not David) wanted to see the pile of sea lions on Pier 39. We hopped on a street car (another hint: between the buses, trains, and streetcars, the 3 day pass more than paid for itself, highly recommended) and headed for the water. We saw old boats, old sea lions, old-fashioned candy (yesss Ice Cubes), and old carousels before we managed to extract ourselves from the waterfront. And then...we climbed Telegraph Hill. Another riveting story for another time!
